What is it?
EMSCULPT® is a noninvasive treatment that promotes muscle growth and remodeling leading to better definition and muscle tone. EMSCULPT® uses HIFEM® (High-Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic) technology that induces supramaximal muscle contractions forcing muscle tissue to adapt and respond to such extreme conditions with increase in muscle size and new muscle fiber growth. HIFEM® does not effect the smooth muscle found in organs. Due to the increased energy needs, local fat stores are broken down to use free fatty acids for fuel leading to fat loss.
What are the results?
As with every treatment, results can vary between patients. But studies have show the following after four EMSCULPT® treatments over 2-weeks:
- 16% average increase in muscle mass
- 19% average fat reduction
- 1.5 inch decrease in waistline circumference

Am I a candidate?
Although there are few contraindications to treatment with EMSCULPT®, patients with any of the following cannot be treated:
- cardiac pacemakers & implanted defibrillators
- implanted neurostimulators
- electronic implants
- pulmonary insufficiency
- metal implants
- pregnancy

What to expect
With EMSCULPT® there’s no downtime. Treatments take 30 minutes for abs and buttocks, 20 minutes for arms and calf muscles. Patients are able to resume their normal activities immediately afterwards including driving, working, and exercising, although muscles targeted during EMSCULPT® may feel a little sore after treatment. Though results vary, most people saw the most noticeable changes between 2 – 6 weeks from the first treatment and will gradually improve over 6-months.
