At our medical spa in Ardmore Lip Fillers are some of the most popular aesthetic treatments because results are almost immediate, and there's minimal recovery time. In our practice Dr. Guirand and team use fillers to plump and shape lips, add volume and contour to the cheeks, and fill in deep wrinkles with the goal of having a smoother, more youthful appearance. In addition to the face, we can use some dermal fillers on the hands for a smoother appearance and to shape and add volume to the buttocks.
To schedule your lip fillers consultation, call sculpMD or book an appointment online today.
There are many different types of dermal and lip fillers Ardmore patients can choose from. Lip and dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected under the skin to smooth out lines around nose and mouth (sometimes called marionette lines or smile lines), enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples, diminish vertical lip lines, plump & enhance lips, and improve facial symmetry.
At sculpMD, we use hyaluronic acid (HA) and Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) fillers.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Restylane and Revanesse Versa products are two of the FDA approved brands of HA fillers we use at sculpMD. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that produced in your skin, but naturally declines with age, dietary, and environmental factors. Injectable HA fillers can keep skin plump and hydrated, with results often lasting 6 to 12 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles. Restylane products include Kysse, Lyft, Refyne, and Defyne.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) Radiesse® is a Calcium hydroxylapatite filler that is also a naturally occurring substance, found primarily in bones. With CaHA filler, nearly microscopic calcium particles are suspended in a smooth gel that is typically thicker than a hyaluronic acid filler. Radiesse gives an immediate plumping effect like HA fillers, but is replaced by stimulated natural collagen over the course of several weeks. Radiesse lasts about 12 months for most patients.
Radiesse comes formulated with or without lidocaine, and is used for smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds in the face, correcting volume loss in the back of the hands. We can use hyperdilute Radiesse for non-invasive buttocks enhancement.
Dermal and Lip Filler injections are completed during an office visit, beginning with a consultation, with Dr. Guirand who will review your aesthetic treatment and medical history including allergies, skin and neurological conditions, and any prescribed and over the counter medications you are taking that could jeopardize your safety or results, such as blood thinners, aspirin, or ibuprofen for example may increase bruising. After agreeing on a treatment plan, consent for treatment will be signed, pre-treatment photos taken, and the area will be numbed with a topical anesthetic prior to treatment.
